MELBOURNE - Oct 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system off the central New South Wales coast is expected to intensify this morning before moving southeastwards across the Tasman Sea later today. A high pressure system over the Bight will drift towards western Victoria on Saturday then will head eastwards across New South Wales on Sunday. On Monday a weak cold front will approach southwestern Victoria later in the day. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers near and south of the ranges, with just isolated showers penetrating north of the divide. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, strong at times about the Gippsland coast.Saturday 13 OctoberScattered showers mainly on and south of the ranges later clearing from the west. Mostly dry over the northern plains. Cool with light to moderate southwest winds.Sunday 14 OctoberFine after isolated showers in the southeast clear during the morning. A mild and mainly sunny day with a light wind tending northwesterly.Monday 15 OctoberGenerally fine and warm with a moderate to fresh northerly wind ahead of a milder westerly change in the west later.
