MELBOURNE - Oct 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front and associated cold airmass over the south of the State will continue to move eastwards this evening. A high will form southwest of the Bight on Thursday and will move slowly eastwards to be over Victoria Saturday evening. A low pressure trough will cross the far west Sunday evening. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will possible small hail over the agricultural area. Isolated showers over the south of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southwest to southerly winds.Thursday 11 OctoberScattered showers over the agricultural area,with possible isolated thunderstorms and small hail over central and eastern districts, easing to isolated showers during the day. Isolated showers also about the south of the pastoral districts, clearing by evening. A small chance of light snow falling about the peaks of the Flinders and Mount Lofty Ranges before dawn. Light morning frost about central and eastern districts. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southerly winds.Friday 12 OctoberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to the South East in the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 OctoberIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the South East, clearing in the evening. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly in the west. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far west.Sunday 14 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. Warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting southerly in the far west in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 20 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East, with possible local falls of 20 to 30 mm. Falls of 2 to 5 mm are expected across the northern agricultural area, with less than 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Monday until WednesdayFine and warm on Monday with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting milder southerly across western and southern parts.
