Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough and associated cold airmass will move over the south of the State today. A high will form southwest of the Bight on Thursday and will move slowly eastwards to be over Victoria Saturday evening.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will possible small hail developing over the agricultural area during the morning and early afternoon. Isolated showers extending over the south of the pastoral districts. Showers becoming widespread on and east Mt Lofty Ranges in the afternoon. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southwest to southerly winds.Thursday 11 OctoberScattered showers over the agricultural area, with possible small hail in the east, easing to isolated showers during the day. Isolated showers also about the south of the North East Pastoral district. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southerly winds.Friday 12 OctoberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to the South East in the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 OctoberIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the South East. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly in the west. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 20 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East, with possible local falls of 20 to 30 mm. Falls of 2 to 5 mm are expected across the northern agricultural area, with less than 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Sunday until TuesdayFine and warm on Sunday with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Possible showers developing about western and southern coasts on Monday and Tuesday. Winds shifting southwest to southeasterly across most parts during the period and becoming milder in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
