Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough will move across the south of the State today. A new high west of WA will extend a ridge into the Bight, with the high moving eastwards to be centred over the Bight on Wednesday. An upper trough and associated cold airmass will move over the south of the State on Wednesday and then move east of the state on Thursday. The high over the Bight will move east of the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible morning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the South East and early frost in the South East. Isolated showers developing about southern coasts during the afternoon and evening with possible showers about western coasts. Showers tending scattered about the Lower South East during the afternoon and early evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times about the coasts.Wednesday 10 OctoberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will possible small hail developing over the agricultural area during the day. Isolated showers extending over the south of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with fresh to strong south to southwest winds extending throughout.Thursday 11 OctoberScattered showers with small hail over the southern agricultural areas with isolated showers over the southern pastorals and Eyre Peninsula. Showers easing during the afternoon and contracting south in the evening. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southerly winds.Friday 12 OctoberIsolated showers over the agricultural areas, scattered east of the Mt Lofty Ranges in the morning. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the northern agricultural area and West Coast, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, locally reaching 15 to 30 mm about the southern coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers about southern coasts and ranges clearing during Saturday afternoon then re-developing southwest of Keith to Ceduna during Monday afternoon and evening. Cool to mild at first then generally warming during the period. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds freshening in the west and turning northwesterly ahead of a southerly change about western coasts on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
