MELBOURNE - Oct 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is moving east, while a weak high to the west extends a ridge into New South Wales. The high is expected to be the dominant feature in the region today, decaying Tuesday/Wednesday as a broad trough develops. The next significant frontal system is forecast to affect the state during the second half of the week, bringing cold and windy conditions. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers developing along the coast and adjacent ranges during the afternoon and evening, with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible snow showers about higher parts of the Alps. Fine and partly cloudy in the west. Generally light southeast to southwesterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions along the coast, easing from the south.Tuesday 9 OctoberPossible showers along the coast and the adjacent ranges, and across the far southern inland later in the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light winds.Wednesday 10 OctoberScattered showers in the south with possible thunder, and snow on the Alps. The chance of showers over most remaining districts. Northerly winds before a colder, fresh to strong southwest change extends through western, southern and central districts.Thursday 11 OctoberScattered showers in the east, with snow on the southern ranges. Isolated showers in the west, becoming less likely towards the South Australian border.
