Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high near Kangaroo Island will move eastwards to be centred to the east of the State on Monday ahead of a weak trough moving across the south of the State. A new high west of WA will extend a ridge into the Bight during Monday, with the high moving eastwards to be centred over the Bight on Wednesday. An upper trough and associated cold pool of air will move over the south of the State on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of isolated light showers about western coasts and western Kangaroo Island later this evening. Light to moderate southeast to southwest winds, tending northeasterly in the northwest.Monday 8 OctoberPossible isolated showers over the West Coast and southern Northwest Pastoral districts with possible early showers extending over parts of the central and eastern districts. Patchy early frost about the Flinders, Mid North and South East districts. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh southeast in the southwest and westerly in the northwest.Tuesday 9 OctoberA fine morning. Isolated showers developing about southern coasts during the afternoon and evening with possible showers about western coasts. Showers tending scattered about the Lower South East.Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times in the west.Wednesday 10 OctoberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will possible small hail developing over the agricultural area during the day. Isolated showers extending over the south of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with fresh to strong south to southwest winds extending throughout.Thursday 11 OctoberScattered showers and possible morning thunderstorms with small hail over the southern agricultural areas with isolated showers extending into the southern pastorals and over the western coastal areas. Showers easing during the afternoon and contracting to the the coasts in the evening. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the northern agricultural area and West Coast, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, locally reaching 15 to 25 mm about the southern coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas clearing later on Saturday, fine for the remainder. Cool to mild at first then generally warming on Sunday with light o moderate southwest to southeasterly winds turning northeasterly in the west on saturday and throughout on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
