MELBOURNE - Oct 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1026 hPa south of the Bight will move eastwards to be centred to the east of the State on Monday. A new high west of WA will extend a ridge into the Bight during Monday, with the high moving eastwards to be centred southwest of the Bight later on Tuesday. A cold pool of air will move over the south of the State on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayEarly fog patches over the agricultural area and West Coast district. Patchy early frost about the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. A fine day with areas of high cloud in the south and west. Cool to mild in the southeast, grading to hot in the far northwest. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, freshening in the far west.Monday 8 OctoberPossible isolated showers over Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, the Northern Agricultural and Central districts and far south of the Pastorals, clearing by evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh southeast in the southwest and westerly in the northwest.Tuesday 9 OctoberA fine morning, possible isolated showers developing about southern coasts during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times in the west.Wednesday 10 OctoberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will possible small hail developing over the agricultural area during the day. Isolated showers extending over the south of the pastoral districts. Cool to cold with fresh to strong south to southwest winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, locally reaching 10 to 20 mm about the southern coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Thursday until SaturdayScattered showers in the south, with isolated showers extending into the eastern parts of the pastoral districts on Thursday. Showers contracting to the southern agricultural area later on Friday then clearing on Saturday morning.
