Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the south of the Pastoral districts will move slowly northeast to be centred near Moomba by Saturday night. A high west of the Bight will move eastwards over the weekend to be centred to the east of the State on Monday. A new high west of WA will extend a ridge into the Bight during Monday, with the high moving eastwards and expected to be centred southwest of the Bight later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and possible early thunder south of about Woomera to Broken Hill. Showers contracting south and eastwards during the day to be confined to far southern coasts by evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate northwest winds in the far northeast, with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 7 OctoberEarly fog patches over the agricultural area and West Coast district. Possible early frost on the Flinders and Lower South East districts. A fine day with areas of high cloud in the south and west. Cool to mild in the southeast, grading to hot in the far northwest. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, freshening in the far west.Monday 8 OctoberEarly fog patches over the West Coast and Lower South East districts. Possible isolated showers over Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, the Northern Agricultural and far south of the Pastorals, clearing by late afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh southeast in the southwest and westerly in the northwest.Tuesday 9 OctoberEarly fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the Lower South East, then fine. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be up to 2 mm, reaching 5 mm with thunderstorms.Wednesday until FridayA cold, fresh to strong south to southwest change extending throughout during Wednesday, bringing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the agricultural area and isolated showers to the south of the pastoral districts, contracting east on Thursday and easing to isolated showers over the southern agricultural area by Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
