Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will deepen over southern New South Wales on Saturday, with an intense low expected to form off the Eden or Batemans Coast Saturday night. Rain will develop with this system over southern NSW on Saturday, but as a high pressure system strengthens over South Australia and Victoria on Sunday and the low moves rapidly away to the east, the rain will clear. Southerly winds will increase however on late Saturday or Sunday over coastal waters with this low. A powerful long period swell will also affect NSW waters over the weekend, creating dangerous surf conditions, hazardous for coastal activities such as boating, rockfishing and surfing. The high will extend a ridge over NSW through into the middle of the week with dry conditions affecting much of the state from Sunday until Wednesday, apart from along the coast and ranges where isolated showers are possible.
