Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the south of the Pastoral districts will move slowly northeast to be centred near Moomba by Saturday night. A weak high west of Kangaroo Island will be replaced by a larger high which will move eastwards to the south of the State over the weekend, followed by another low pressure trough moving over the State on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly morning fog patches over the agricultural area to the east of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Possible isolated morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Isolated showers extending from the west during the day over areas to the south of about Ceduna to Renmark. Possible isolated evening thunderstorms about western coasts. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times, tending northerly over most of the Pastoral and Flinders districts.Saturday 6 OctoberIsolated showers over the West Coast district and agricultural area and possibly in the far south of the pastoral and Flinders districts, contracting east and clearing late evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area until dawn. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate northwest winds in the far northeast, with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 7 OctoberEarly fog patches over the agricultural area. Possible early frost on the Flinders Ranges. A fine day with areas of high cloud in the south and west. Cool to mild in the southeast, grading to hot in the far northwest. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, tending northerly in the west, ahead of a cooler, fresh to strong south to southwest change in the far west during the late afternoon and evening.Monday 8 OctoberEarly fog patches in the south, then fine. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northwest. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a moderate to fresh south to southwest change, gradually extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning until midnight Monday are expected to be up to 2 mm, reaching 5 mm with thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayFine Tuesday. A cold, fresh to strong southwest change extending throughout during Wednesday and Thursday bringing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the agricultural area and isolated showers to the south of the pastoral districts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Friday.Product IDS10033
