MELBOURNE - Oct 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening and a cold front is approaching from the west. The front will move through the west and southeast of the state on Friday and a low pressure trough will extend from the north across the eastern and central parts of the state in a wake of the front. During Saturday the trough will deepen and a low will develop within the trough over the southeast. The trough is expected to weaken on Sunday as the low moves rapidly east. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMostly sunny day. Early fog patches in the east. North to northwesterly winds, freshening across the south.Fire Danger - Very High: Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Sydney, Illawarra, Northern, Central TablelandsFriday 5 OctoberThe chance of showers on the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northwest winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending across the south of the state.Saturday 6 OctoberPartly cloudy in the northern inland. Rain areas in the southeastern inland and showers elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms in the southeast, Southwest to northwesterly winds tending north to northeasterly on the south and central coasts.Sunday 7 OctoberIsolated showers in the southeast and on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
