Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system situated over the east coast will move slowly eastwards. A low pressure trough is expected to develop about South Australia's western border late this evening, moving eastwards across the south of the State on Thursday to reach the far northeast on Friday. A new high will form southwest of the Bight on Friday, and then move eastwards to be centred near Tasmania late Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayClear. A warm evening with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Thursday 4 OctoberFine and mostly sunny day. Possible isolated showers developing about the Lower South East Coast in the evening. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change in the far west, extending across the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts during the afternoon and evening.Friday 5 OctoberPossible isolated showers developing about the West Coast, Eyre Peninsula and southern agricultural area. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly over the Pastoral and Flinders districts.Saturday 6 OctoberIsolated showers across the West Coast and agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate northerly winds in the northeast at first, with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds elsewhere.Sunday 7 OctoberEarly fog patches over the agricultural area. Possible isolated early showers near the Lower South East coast. Cool to mild in the south and east, grading to hot in the far west. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly from the west during the day, ahead of a fresh southwesterly change in the west late afternoon or evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be up to 1 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 5 mm across the southern agricultural area.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, extending over the agricultural area on Wednesday. Mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds, becoming fresh northwest to southwest on Wednesday. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
