Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over Victoria will drift northeastwards to reach the northern Tasman Sea late on Wednesday. The next cold front will reach western Victoria late Thursday morning and will cross the remainder of the State on Thursday afternoon and evening. On Friday a new high will move over Bight waters with a ridge extending to Victoria. This high will be held back on Saturday as a developing low pressure trough over South Australia moves steadily eastwards over Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and clear with light winds.Wednesday 3 OctoberLocal early fog patches, mainly in the north and east then a dry, mild to warm and mainly sunny day. Light to moderate northwest winds and local afternoon seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.Thursday 4 OctoberA warm to very warm and mostly sunny day with fresh to locally strong north to northwest wind ahead of a milder southwesterly change developing over the southwest in the early afternoon then extending eastwards late in the day and evening. Isolated showers developing over the southwest after the change but otherwise dry.Friday 5 OctoberIsolated showers possible near and south of the divide. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with moderate southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 6 OctoberCloudy with areas of rain extending eastwards across the State. Generally cool with light to moderate southeasterly wind, freshening later in the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
