Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system centred over Victoria extends a ridge across New South Wales to the Tasman Sea. This high will drift slowly east during the next few days, maintaining fine and stable weather in most districts, with conditions gradually warming as northerly winds develop. By Thursday, the high is expected to be weakening over the Tasman Sea, allowing a trough and associated cold front to move from the Southern Ocean towards western New South Wales. This frontal system is forecast to bring a cool change to the state on Friday and Saturday, although at this stage appears unlikely to generate significant rain.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine, with mostly clear skies. Southwest to southeast winds in the north, tending light and variable across the south.Wednesday 3 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. Early fog patches in the east. Mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Very High Fire Danger in the Northern Rivers district.Thursday 4 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. North to northwesterly winds, freshening across the south.Friday 5 OctoberFine apart from the chance of showers in the southeast. Northerly winds in the northeast. A south to southwesterly change extending across the remainder.Saturday 6 OctoberThe chance of showers across the south and east, more likely near the Victorian border. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to southwest winds in the sound, and northerly winds in the north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
