MELBOURNE - Sep 30/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system is in the south Tasman Sea. A high pressure system located over the Bight will drift slowly eastwards to be over western Victoria tonight, then move northeastwards across northern Victoria to reach the NSW central coast by Tuesday evening. The next cold front will enter the Bight later Wednesday and then move across Victoria during Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers on and south of the ranges, falling as snow above 1300 metres and contracting to coastal areas in the evening. Clear in the north. Light to moderate southwest winds, fresh about the Gippsland coast.Monday 1 OctoberLocal morning fog and frosts patches inland. Isolated showers in the south and about the east ranges, mostly clearing during the afternoon. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres at first. Fine and sunny in the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Tuesday 2 OctoberLocal morning frosts inland. Fine and mainly sunny throughout apart from isolated morning showers clearing from the exposed parts of the Gippsland coasts. Generally mild with light westerly winds and local afternoon coastal seabreezes.Wednesday 3 OctoberA mild to warm and mainly sunny day throughout. Light to moderate west to northwest winds and local afternoon seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.Thursday 4 OctoberCloud increasing in the west and south with isolated showers developing in the southwest during the day. Remaining mainly sunny in the north and east.
