Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over inland parts will move northeastward today to clear the State late afternoon or evening. A vigorous cold front will move across the south during the day then a high pressure system will become established over the Bight on Sunday. This high will move slowly eastwards during the following few days.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over most districts, contracting to the Northeast Pastoral district during the day. Scattered showers will follow across the southern agricultural area and isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and far south of the pastorals districts. Isolated thunderstorms will possibly develop over the about Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Lower South East during the middle of the day and small hail is possible over the southern agricultural area in the evening. Hot in the far northeast at first with fresh northwesterly winds and areas of raised dust, ahead of a cooler, fresh to strong west to southwesterly change extending throughout by evening.Saturday 29 SeptemberScattered showers over the southern agricultural area east of Eyre Peninsula, easing to isolated showers during the morning. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area, the far south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Isolated showers in the far northeast clearing during the morning. Cool to cold with possible small hail over the agricultural area east of Eyre Peninsula, contracting the southeast during the day and clearing by evening. Cool to mild elsewhere. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds easing late afternoon and evening.Sunday 30 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 1 OctoberIsolated showers about the South East district, clearing in the evening. Possible isolated morning showers over the remainder of southern coasts and ranges. Mild to warn with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending easterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Monday are expected to be up to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area and north of the pastoral districts, with local falls of 10 to 15 mm over the Lower South East.Tuesday until ThursdayFine and warm to hot, ahead of a milder change in the south and west on Thursday. Possible isolated showers developing about southern coasts late Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Friday.Product IDS10033
