Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 27/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough of low pressure is located over inland parts of the State. A vigorous cold front will move across the State on Friday and a high will become established over the Bight on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms northeast of a line Tarcoola to Aldinga to Keith. Warm to hot with fresh and gusty northwest winds ahead of a moderate to fresh west to southwesterly change extending over the agricultural area and the Northwest Pastoral district.Friday 28 SeptemberScattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms northeast of a line Tarcoola to Cape Jervis to Mount Gambier contracting to the Northeast Pastoral and with thunderstorms clearing by mid afternoon. Scattered showers to follow across the southern agricultural area with isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and far south of the Pastorals. Possible isolated thunderstorms over the Lower South East during the middle of the day. Hot in the far northeast at first with fresh northwesterly winds and areas of raised dust, ahead of a colder, fresh to strong west to southwesterly change extending throughout by evening. Possible small hail over the southern agricultural area in the evening.Saturday 29 SeptemberScattered showers over the southern agricultural area east of Eyre Peninsula, decreasing to isolated during the morning. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts and the West Coast district. Isolated showers in the far northeast clearing during the morning. Cool to cold with possible small hail over the agricultural area east of Eyre Peninsula, contracting the southeast during the day and clearing by evening. Cool to mild elsewhere. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds easing late afternoon and evening.Sunday 30 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 1 October
Isolated showers about the South East district, clearing in the evening. Possible isolated morning showers over the remainder of southern coasts and ranges. Mild to warn with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending easterly in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be up to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area and north of the pastoral districts, with local falls of 10 to 15 mm over the Lower South East.
Tuesday until ThursdayFine and warm to hot, ahead of a milder change in the south and west on Thursday. Possible isolated showers developing about southern coasts late Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
