Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 25/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the eastern states will move east to be over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough is expected to reach the far west of South Australia late Tuesday then extend across western and central parts during Wednesday then the northeast on Thursday and Friday. A cold front will move across the south later on Friday the a high pressure system will become established over The Bight during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of high cloud in the west with possible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west. Clear elsewhere. A cool to mild evening in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh in the west ahead of a westerly change in the far southwest during the evening.Wednesday 26 SeptemberPossible isolated light showers or thunderstorms in the Northwest Pastoral and far west of the Northeast Pastoral. Areas of high cloud. Warm to hot with fresh to strong and gusty northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change extending across western and central parts, to be near a line Coober Pedy to Adelaide during the evening.Thursday 27 SeptemberPossible isolated showers or thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts and far east of the Northwest Pastoral. Warm to hot with fresh and gusty northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change in the northeast.Friday 28 SeptemberIsolated showers extending to most parts, increasing to scattered across the southern agricultural area during the day. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the Lower South East coast in the evening. Hot in the far northeast at first with fresh northwesterly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh to strong west to southwesterly change extending throughout by evening.Saturday 29 SeptemberIsolated showers in the far northeast clearing during the morning. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, possibly extending into the south of the pastoral and Flinders districts. Mild with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds easing late afternoon and evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm across the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 10 to 15 mm about the Mt Lofty Ranges and Lower South East. Less than 5 mm is expected elsewhere.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers about coastal districts contracting to southern coastal districts by Monday then clear by Monday afternoon. Gradually becoming warmer with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds turning southeast to northeasterly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
