MELBOURNE - Sep 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will drift across Victoria during Tuesday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Wednesday then will move eastwards. The trough will cross Victoria late Thursday and during Friday with a cold front to follow Friday night. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from early morning fog patches and isolated clearing showers near the Gippsland coast. Widespread frosts inland, then a cool to mild and mostly sunny day with generally light winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Wednesday 26 SeptemberFine apart from isolated showers over western and central districts late in the day. A warm day, generally sunny over the east but cloud increasing in the west. Northerly wind, freshening over western and central districts.Thursday 27 SeptemberWarm to very warm and partly cloudy with isolated showers developing, mostly in the afternoon and evening. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms over western and central districts. Northerly winds strengthening, especially in elevated and central areas ahead of a late southwesterly change extending along the coast.Friday 28 SeptemberAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms.
