Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Kangaroo Island will move east to be over Victoria Tuesday morning. A low pressure trough is expected to cross the far west of South Australia late Tuesday, extending eastwards to reach central parts later Wednesday and the far northeast on Thursday. A cold front will cross the State on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated light showers about the Lower South East Coast, clearing in the evening. Partly cloudy across the southern agricultural area, clear elsewhere. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly in the west.Tuesday 25 SeptemberLight morning frost over the central and eastern districts. Cloud increasing in the far northwest, mostly sunny elsewhere. Mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the west ahead of a westerly change in the far west in the evening.Wednesday 26 SeptemberPossible isolated light showers developing in a band of cloud east of about Coober Pedy to Kingscote. Warm to hot with fresh and gusty north to northwesterly winds, possibly strong at times, ahead of a westerly change in the west, reaching central districts in the evening.Thursday 27 SeptemberPossible isolated showers northeast of Oodnadatta to Keith. Isolated showers also possible about the Lower South East Coast in the evening. Warm to hot with fresh and gusty northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change reaching the far northeast in the evening.Friday 28 September
Isolated showers extending to most parts, increasing to scattered about across the southern agricultural area during the day. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the Lower South East Coast in the evening. Hot in the far northeast at first with fresh northwesterly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh to strong west to southwesterly change extending throughout by evening.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday evening to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm across the southern agricultural area, possibly reaching 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts. 1 to 2 mm is expected elsewhere, although local falls of 5 mm are possible.
Saturday until MondayIsolated showers, chiefly about the agricultural area and North East Pastoral, becoming confined to the southern agricultural area on Sunday and clearing by Monday. Mild with moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northeast in the west on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
