Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the Bight will move across the south of the State today ahead of a low pressure trough developing in the far west late Tuesday. The trough will extend eastwards to reach central parts later Wednesday and the far northeast on Thursday as a series of fronts passes to the south.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated light showers south of about Adelaide, contracting to the Lower South East Coast in the afternoon then clearing in the evening. The chance of a shower elsewhere across the southern agricultural area during the morning. Morning frost patches in the north and west. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly in the west.Tuesday 25 SeptemberMorning frost over the central and eastern districts. A fine and mostly sunny day. Mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the west ahead of a westerly change in the far west in the evening.Wednesday 26 SeptemberPossible isolated light showers developing in a band of cloud across the pastoral districts east of about Coober Pedy and the northern agricultural area. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot with fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the west, reaching central districts in the evening.Thursday 27 SeptemberPossible isolated showers northeast of Coober Pedy to Keith. Isolated showers also possible about southern coasts in the evening. Warm to hot with fresh northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change reaching the far northeast in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday to midnight Thursday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over the Pastoral districts, contracting east and clearing later Friday. Isolated showers extending across the agricultural area, scattered across the southern agricultural area early in the period. Hot in the far northeast at first with fresh northwesterly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh to strong southwesterly change extending throughout on Friday, then tending southwest to southeasterly and easing during the weekend.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Monday.Product IDS10033
