Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over far eastern Victoria will move over the Tasman Sea tonight as an associated deep low pressure system moves south of Tasmania. The next high pressure system will move from the Bight to western Victoria late Monday, then cross Victoria on Tuesday before moving out over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday and Thursday. A low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Wednesday then move eastwards to reach far western Victoria later on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the south, scattered about the exposed coast. Dry north of the divide. Cool moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Monday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, scattered near the coast. Snow falls above 1100 metres. Fine over the northern plains. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong at first along the coast but easing later in the day.Tuesday 25 SeptemberFine apart from early morning fog and frost patches and isolated clearing showers near the Gippsland coast. A cool to mild and mostly sunny day with generally light winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Wednesday 26 SeptemberFine apart from isolated late showers in the west. A warm day, generally sunny over the east but cloud increasing in the west. Northerly wind, freshening over western and central districts.Thursday 27 September
Warm to very warm and partly cloudy with patchy rain developing, mostly in the afternoon and evening. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the southwest. Northerly winds strengthening, especially in elevated and central areas.
