Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front moving across western and southern parts of New South Wales today will continue to the northeast during Monday. Behind this, a high pressure system south of the Bight is extending a ridge into the state's west. The high will pass overhead during Tuesday, maintaining fine conditions in most districts. By Wednesday it is expected to be over the Tasman Sea, although a ridge will remain over the northeast of New South Wales through to the end of the week. The next cold front is expected during Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast. A west to southwesterly change extending across the remainder.Monday 24 SeptemberPossible local thunder across the northern inland in the early morning, but remaining dry. Isolated showers developing along the northern coast and adjacent ranges during the afternoon, with the chance of thunderstorms. A mostly sunny day elsewhere. Evening drizzle patches developing about parts of the southern coast. Southeast to southwest winds extending throughout.Fire Danger -  Very High in the Northern Rivers district.Tuesday 25 SeptemberThe chance of showers or drizzle patches along the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges, clearing from the south by afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds, tending light and variable across most of the south.Wednesday 26 SeptemberThe chance of showers in the far northeast and southwest. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 27 SeptemberIsolated showers developing over the southern and western inland. Fine elsewhere.
