MELBOURNE - Sep 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge of high pressure lies over New South Wales, as a trough and associated cold front approach from the west. The front will move across southern and western parts of the state during Sunday, continuing to the northeast and then the Tasman Sea during Monday. Behind this, another high pressure system is expected to strengthen south of the Bight and extend a ridge over New South Wales. This high is forecast to move slowly east during the first half of the week, before the next front affects the region during Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine throughout. Generally light and variable winds.Sunday 23 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny. Early fog patches about the coast and tablelands. Warm northeast to northwesterly winds, before a cooler west to southwesterly change in the south and west.Monday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers along the northern coast, with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to southwest winds extending throughout.Tuesday 25 SeptemberIsolated showers along the central and northern coasts, and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds, tending light and variable across most of the south.Wednesday 26 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of showers in the far northeast and southwest.
