Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A vigorous cold front near Port Lincoln to Coober Pedy will reach Mount Gambier to Renmark to Marree around midnight then ease and move through the remainder on Sunday morning. A high will move across the State on Monday ahead of a trough developing in the far west late Tuesday, extending to central districts late Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers light showers over eastern districts and southern coasts with possible thunderstorms in the southeast. Fresh to strong northerly winds ahead of a cooler, strong and squally west to southwest change in the west, reaching Mount Gambier to Renmark to Marree around midnight. Areas of raised dust over the north and west.Sunday 23 SeptemberIsolated showers south of about Adelaide with possible showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area , contracting to the far south by evening. Showers tending scattered over the Lower South East in the early morning with possible thunderstorms and small hail. Areas of raised dust about the Northeast Pastoral during the early morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strong about southern coasts, with southwest to southerly winds extending throughout inland.Monday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East, with possible showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, clearing by evening. Morning frost patches in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming east to northeasterly in the west during the day.Tuesday 25 SeptemberMorning frost over the central and eastern districts then a fine and mild to warm day, grading to hot in the north and west. Moderate northerly winds, freshening in the west during the morning.Wednesday 26 SeptemberPossible isolated showers developing in a band of cloud northeast of Keith to Tarcoola but southwest of Leigh Creek. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot temperatures and freshening north to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be up to 1 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the South East districts.Thursday until SaturdayPatchy rain is expected to develop over the Northeast Pastoral and eastern parts of the Flinders and Riverland on Thursday then contract northeast and clear by Saturday. Isolated showers are also forecast to develop over the agricultural areas, western coasts and southern pastorals on Friday, becoming possible showers about the southern and western coastal areas on Saturday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north at first with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler southerly change developing on Thursday and extending throughout during Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
