Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough sits over northeastern New South Wales while a high pressure ridge extends over the west and south. The trough will move into the Tasman Sea overnight with southerly winds extending up the coast. Another trough, and its associated front, will move into the state on Sunday, which will be preceded by warm northwesterly winds and followed by cooler south to southwesterly winds. This will be replaced by high pressure system early in the week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstoms along the coast, fine remainder. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast. South to southwesterly winds in the south and west.Saturday 22 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny across most of the state. The chance of isolated light showers developing near the South Australian border later in the day. South to southwesterly winds in the east, light and variable winds in the west.Sunday 23 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southeastern inland. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the central and north western slopes and plains. Warm northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a southwesterly wind change moving through the west and south of the state.Monday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers and afternoon thunderstorms along the north coast. Fine remainder. South to southwest winds extending throughout.Tuesday 25 SeptemberIsolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. Mainly southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
