Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system centred over Adelaide will move east of the State tonight. A cold front will extend across the far west on Saturday morning, extending to central and eastern districts late afternoon and evening. Another high will move across the State on Monday ahead of a trough developing in the far west late Tuesday, extending to central districts late Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine and mostly clear throughout. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwest to southeast winds turning northeasterly in the west.Saturday 22 SeptemberEarly fog patches in the South East district. A fine and warm to hot day with isolated showers developing south of Kingscote to Naracoorte during the afternoon and evening. Possible isolated showers and thunder also developing over the remainder south of about Woomera during the afternoon. Areas of raised dust developing about the Northwest Pastoral and northern Eyre Peninsula during the afternoon. Freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler, fresh and gusty southwesterly change in the far west during the morning, extending to central parts from late afternoon and the east late evening.Sunday 23 SeptemberIsolated showers near the west coast and about the southern agricultural area, tending scattered over the Lower South East in the morning and contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Possible thunderstorms and small hail over the Lower South East coast during the morning. Areas of raised dust about the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders during the morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout, easing in the evening.Monday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East, with possible showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and western coasts, clearing by evening. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming east to northeasterly in the west during the day.Tuesday 25 SeptemberMorning fog patches over the central and eastern districts then a fine and mild to warm day, grading to hot in the north and west. Moderate northerly winds, freshening in the west during the morning. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 1 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the South East district.Wednesday until FridayFine with increasing high cloud, warm to hot temperatures and freshening northerly winds on Wednesday. A milder southwesterly change will extend over western parts of the State on Wednesday then into central and eastern parts on Thursday. Patchy rain developing over the pastoral and Flinders districts on Thursday then contracting east on Friday. Isolated showers developing over the agricultural areas on Thursday and continuing into Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
