MELBOURNE - Sep 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough lies over the New South Wales and is expected to deepen near the coast during Friday. A weak high is expected to drift overhead on Saturday before the next cold front sweeps across the state on Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the southeast and in the far southwest. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds in the southeast, northwest to northeasterly winds in the north.Friday 21 SeptemberCloudy with isolated light showers over the north, with afternoon thunderstorms possible along the north from about Port Macquarie. Isolated early showers in the southeast, tending scattered on the Alps but contracting to the South Coast and Illawarra Coast forecast districts during the afternoon with isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible in these districts. Fine and partly cloudy remainder. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the south and west.Saturday 22 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny across most of the state. The chance of isolated light showers developing near the South Australian border later in the day. South to southwesterly winds in the east, light and variable winds in the west.Sunday 23 SeptemberFine apart from possible isolated morning showers in the southeast. Warm northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a southwesterly wind change moving through the west and south of the state.Monday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers and afternoon thunderstorms along the north coast. Fine remainder.
