Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system to the southwest of Kangaroo Island will move southeastward and weaken during Tuesday. A low pressure trough is expected to move over the far west of the State later Tuesday and extend slowly eastwards to reach central districts on Wednesday evening then move to the southeast during Thursday. Another high pressure system will move across the south on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly morning fog over the agricultural area. Isolated showers about Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula, the South East district and far south of the Murraylands. Cloud increasing with patchy light rain developing in the far west late morning, extending across Eyre Peninsula, the Flinders and southern parts of the pastoral districts during the afternoon and evening. Possible thunder west of Tarcoola to Ceduna. Cold at first over parts of the agricultural area with local frost then cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds ahead of milder southwesterly change in the far west late in the day.Wednesday 19 SeptemberPossible early fog in the southeast. Patchy light rain extending across the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, contracting to eastern districts in the evening. Warm northeasterly winds ahead of a milder west to southwesterly wind change over the west and north.Thursday 20 SeptemberPatchy light rain over the South East clearing during the morning. Isolated showers to follow about the southern agricultural area. Patchy light rain possibly developing over the south of the pastoral districts and north of the Flinders district. Mild, moderate to fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout.Friday 21 SeptemberIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area and far south of the Flinders district contracting to the Lower South East during the morning then clearing by evening. Patchy light rain possible in the south of the pastoral districts and north of the Flinders district during the morning. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm, but local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible about the southern agricultural area.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area during Saturday, extending to remaining coastal areas Sunday morning then contracting to the Lower South East early Monday morning. Moderate southeast to northeasterly winds shifting northeast to northwesterly ahead of a fresh southwesterly change during Saturday then gradually easing during Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
