Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred south of the Bight will move southeastward and weaken during Tuesday. A low pressure trough is expected to move over the far west of the State later Tuesday and extend slowly eastwards to reach central districts on Wednesday evening then move away to the southeast during Thursday. Another high pressure system will move across the south during Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, possibly extending over the remainder of the Murraylands, the Riverland and far south of the Flinders district. A cool evening with mainly light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 18 SeptemberIsolated early fog over the agricultural area. Isolated showers about Kangaroo Island, Fleurieu Peninsula, the South East district and far south of the Murraylands. Areas of cloud increasing from the west with the possibility of patchy light rain over the west during the afternoon and evening. Cold at first over parts of the agricultural area with a chance of frost then cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds ahead of milder southwesterly change in the far west late in the day.Wednesday 19 SeptemberPossible early fog in the southeast. Patchy light rain in the west extending east to reach eastern districts by evening and clearing from the northwest. Warm northeasterly winds ahead of a milder west to southwesterly wind change over the west and north.Thursday 20 SeptemberPatchy light rain over the South East clearing during the morning. Isolated showers to follow about the southern agricultural area. Patchy light rain possibly developing over the south of the pastoral districts and north of the Flinders district. Mild, moderate to fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout.Friday 21 September
Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area and far south of the Flinders district contracting to the Lower South East during the morning then clearing by evening. Patchy light rain possible in the south of the pastoral districts and north of the Flinders district during the morning. Cool t mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm, but local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible about the southern agricultural area.
Saturday until MondayIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area during Saturday, extending to remaining coastal areas Sunday morning then contracting to the Lower South East early Monday morning. Moderate southeast to northeasterly winds shifting northeast to northwesterly ahead of a fresh southwesterly change during Saturday then gradually easing during Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
