Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will pass just south of Victoria today to reach the Tasman Sea on Tuesday as a trough of low pressure extends from New South Wales to northern Victoria. The trough will contract southeastwards on Wednesday, clearing the State later in the day, but another trough will move from South Australia into northwest Victoria on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and drizzle patches in the south this morning. Morning fog patches near the ranges. Isolated showers developing throughout during the late morning and afternoon with isolated thunderstorms over the north. Showers falling as snow on the Alpine peaks. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day with generally light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 18 SeptemberWidespread showers developing mainly over central and eastern districts with the chance of thunderstorms. Isolated showers developing elsewhere. Showers falling as snow on the Alpine peaks. Mild with generally light winds inland and moderate seabreezes developing along the coast during the afternoon.Wednesday 19 SeptemberScattered showers over Gippsland. Isolated showers possible over most remaining districts. Generally mild with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.Thursday 20 SeptemberIsolated showers possible tending to rain over western districts. A mild day with light to moderate easterly winds shifting moderate westerly in the far west later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDV10310
