Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 17/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is centred well south of the Bight with a weakening front on the eastern flank of this high forecast to move over the southeast on Monday. A trough of low pressure is expected to move over the far west of the State on Tuesday, then extend slowly eastwards to reach central districts Wednesday evening, then clearing from the southeast on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayMorning fog patches over the agricultural area. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, possible extending over the Riverland during the day then contracting to the eastern districts in the evening. Cool in the southeast, grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 18 SeptemberEarly fog over central and eastern districts. Isolated showers about the South East districts, possibly extending over the Murraylands and Riverland district during the day. Areas of cloud increasing from the west with the possibility of patchy light rain over the west during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in north and west. Light to mode ate southeast to northeast winds ahead of milder southwesterly change in the far west late in the day.Wednesday 19 SeptemberPossible early fog in the southeast. Patchy light rain extending to eastern districts by evening and clearing from the northwest. Warm northeasterly winds ahead of a milder west to southwesterly wind change.Thursday 20 SeptemberPatchy light rain contracting to the southeast and clearing later in the day with isolated showers to follow over southern coastal areas. Warm northeasterly winds ahead of the milder westerly wind change. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday to midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm over southern Pastoral districts and 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural areas, with possible local falls of 5 to 10 mm about the south.Friday until SundayIsolated showers will clear from the southeast of the State during Friday and Saturday. Winds will turn warmer northerly and freshen from the west at the weekend ahead of a milder westerly wind change that is expected near the western border Saturday night and near the eastern border Sunday night. Patchy light rain may develop over agricultural areas ahead of the wind change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Monday.Product IDS10033
