Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 16/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends over the south of the state as a front passes well to the south of the State during today. A high develop well south of the Bight during Sunday. A trough of low pressure is expected to move over the far west of the State on Tuesday, then extend slowly eastwards to reach central districts during Wednesday afternoon.
Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning fog patches over the central districts and the West Coast district. Scattered morning showers about the southeast with isolated showers on and east of the Mt Lofty Ranges. Possible isolated showers over remaining parts southeast of about Port Lincoln to Hawker to Broken Hill. Cool in the southeast, grading to warm in the north and west. Light and variable winds, tending moderate southwest to southeasterly in the afternoon.Monday 17 SeptemberMorning fog patches mostly over the agricultural area. Isolated showers over eastern districts of the agricultural area and the southern coasts and ranges. Cool in the southeast, grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 18 SeptemberPossible early fog over the southeast. Isolated showers about eastern districts, more likely in the afternoon about the eastern border. Areas of cloud increasing from the west with patchy light rain extending over areas south and west of about Coober Pedy to Cleve during the day. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in north and west. Mainly light winds ahead of milder southwesterly change in the far west.Wednesday 19 SeptemberPatchy light rain extending over eastern districts by evening and clearing from the northwest. Warm northeasterly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly wind change. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning to midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm over southern Pastoral districts and 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural areas, with possible local falls of 5 to 10 mm.Thursday until SaturdayThe trough and associated light patchy rain will clear from the southeast of the State during Thursday. Isolated showers will follow over the agricultural areas and West Coast district, contracting southwards and clearing late in the period. Cool to mild southwest to southerly winds turning northeasterly at the weekend.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
