MELBOURNE - Sep 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight extends a ridge towards northwest Victoria. A cold front over the Southern Ocean will cross Tasmania today. On Saturday the high pressure system will move over northern Victoria and will remain in the vicinity on Sunday as another weak front crosses Bass Strait late in the day. The next high pressure system will pass just south of Victoria on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly fog and frost patches in the north. Isolated showers and drizzle patches mainly over southern and mountain districts. A cool, partly cloudy day with light to moderate northwest to westerly winds, tending west to southwesterly and freshening near the coast.Saturday 15 SeptemberEarly frost and fog patches in the north. Isolated showers in the south clearing during the afternoon. Fine over the north. A cool to mild day with a light to moderate west to southwesterly wind, fresh at first about the coast.Sunday 16 SeptemberEarly frost and fog in the east. Isolated showers developing in western and central districts, remaining fine in the east. A cool to mild day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Monday 17 SeptemberIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts.
