Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak cold front will move across southern coasts this evening. A high pressure system will move over the Bight during Friday then progress eastwards over eastern states during Saturday. Another high will move in well south of the Bight during Sunday. A trough of low pressure is expected to move over the west of the State on Tuesday then extend east on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and far south of the Flinders district. Cool in the south, grading to mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, easing in the evening.Friday 14 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches over northern parts of the agricultural area and west coast. Early frost patches on the Flinders Ranges. The chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and Eyre Peninsula more likely about the southern coasts and the Lower South East. Showers contracting to southern coastal districts by the afternoon. Cool to mild. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 15 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches over the agricultural area. Early morning frost patches on the Flinders Ranges. Possible isolated showers over Eyre Peninsula and about southern coasts, clearing by evening. Mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Light and variable winds, tending moderate northeasterly in the far west.Sunday 16 SeptemberMorning fog patches over the agricultural area. Possible isolated showers over Kangaroo Island, Mount Lofty Ranges and eastern districts south of Broken Hill. Cool in the southeast, grading to warm in the north and west. Light and variable winds, tending moderate southwest to southeasterly about the southern and western coasts.Monday 17 SeptemberMorning fog patches over the agricultural area. Possible isolated showers over the east of the agricultural area and the remainder of southern coasts and ranges. Cool in the southeast, grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, but local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible about the Lower South East.Tuesday until ThursdayAreas of cloud and isolated light showers extending over western districts on Tuesday, extending to the central and eastern parts of the State on Wednesday and Thursday. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in north and west. Light to moderate northeasterly winds ahead of milder southwesterly change extending from west on Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
