MELBOURNE - Sep 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front near Ceduna at 3 a.m. is expected to extend eastwards to reach a line Adelaide to Tarcoola around midday Wednesday and Marree to Oodnadatta late Wednesday evening. A high pressure system will move over the Bight during Friday then progress eastwards over eastern states during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy rain developing near southern and western coasts during the morning then gradually extending over the remainder of the agricultural area, the West Coast district and far south of the pastoral districts and tending to areas of rain at times, before contracting to the Flinders Ranges and adjacent areas late evening. Isolated showers about southern coasts to follow. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north, with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds ahead of a cooler, fresh south to southwesterly change extending from the west, reaching a line Adelaide to Tarcoola around midday and Marree to Oodnadatta late evening.Thursday 13 SeptemberPatchy rain about the Flinders district and south of the pastoral districts, clearing by afternoon. Isolated showers to follow over the southern agricultural area and south of the Flinders district. Cool in the south, grading to mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds easing in the evening.Friday 14 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches over the agricultural area and west coast. The chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural, contracting to southern coastal districts by the afternoon. Cool to mild. Moderate southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 15 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated showers near southern coasts clearing by evening. Mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Light and variable winds, tending moderate easterly in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural area, reaching 5 to 10 mm over parts of the southern agricultural area. Up to 2 mm over the south of the pastoral districts.Sunday until TuesdayPossible isolated showers developing over the Lower South East late Sunday, extending over southern coastal districts during Monday.
