Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the east coast of the continent will continue to move slowly east to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A low pressure trough will move into the far southwest of the State on Tuesday evening and will then extend across central and eastern districts on Wednesday and into the far northeast early Thursday. A new high will develop west of the Bight during Thursday then move across the south of South Australia during Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine. A cool to cold evening with mostly light southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 11 SeptemberIsolated early frost and fog about the agricultural area. Mild to warm grading to hot in the far west. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the west ahead of a late southerly wind change in the far southwest.Wednesday 12 SeptemberPatchy rain developing near southern and western coasts during the morning then gradually extending over the remainder of the agricultural area, the West Coast district and far south of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north, with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler, fresh south to southwesterly wind change extending from the west to reach central and eastern districts during the day.Thursday 13 SeptemberPatchy rain contracting to the Flinders district and south of the pastoral districts early morning then clearing by afternoon. Isolated showers to follow over the agricultural area, scattered about southern coastal districts during the morning. Showers contracting southwards in the evening. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds easing in the evening.Friday 14 September
The chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and coastal parts south of about Ceduna contracting to southern coastal districts by afternoon. Moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cool to mild.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts, the Lower South East and the Mount Lofty Ranges south of about Clare, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm possible about the Mt Lofty Ranges and near the Lower South East coast. 1 to 2 mm are expected over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and less than 1 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts.
Saturday until MondayPossible isolated showers near southern coasts clearing later Saturday then redeveloping on Monday morning. Moderate southeast to northeast winds freshening in the west on Sunday ahead of a southwest to southeasterly winds change which will extend across all but the far northeast by late Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
