MELBOURNE - Sep 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the south of the State will move slowly east to be centred off the east coast by Tuesday and east of the Tasman sea by Thursday. A trough will move into the far west of the State late Tuesday before extending across central and eastern districts on Wednesday. A new high will develop west of the Bight during Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. A cool evening with generally light winds.Monday 10 SeptemberEarly frost and fog patches south of about Woomera to Broken Hill. Early drizzle patches in the Lower South East. Otherwise fine. Cool in the southeast grading to warm in the far west. Light to moderate winds, chiefly northeast to northwest.Tuesday 11 SeptemberEarly frost and fog patches in the South East district. Mild to warm grading to hot in the far west. Light to moderate northerly winds, fresh at times in the west ahead of a late southerly wind change in the far west.Wednesday 12 SeptemberIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area and West Coast. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north, with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler, fresh south to southwesterly wind change extending from the west, reaching central and eastern districts during the day.Thursday 13 SeptemberIsolated showers mostly over the southern agricultural area, scattered near southern coasts and in the Lower South East in the morning, contracting southwards in the evening. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the agricultural area and West Coast, reaching 1 to 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, with 2 to 5 mm possible near southern coasts, the Mount Lofty Ranges south of Adelaide and in the Lower South East district.Friday until SundayThe chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting southwards on Saturday and clearing later. Fine on Sunday. Chiefly light to moderate southeast to southwest winds, becoming light and variable on the weekend, before freshening in the west on Sunday ahead of an approaching southerly wind change.
