Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A vigorous west to southwesterly airflow affects Victoria, however winds are easing from the west as a high pressure system moves slowly eastwards over the Bight. The high will move over southern NSW during Sunday and Monday to be located in the tasman Sea by Tuesday. The next cold front is likely to cross the Bight on Tuesday and move quickly across Victoria on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, more widespread about West Gippsland but easing from the west and contracting to the coast and east ranges this evening. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres, rising to 1600 metres by the evening. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong about the Gippsland coast at first.Sunday 9 SeptemberIsolated showers near the coast and over West Gippsland, clearing in the afternoon to a mostly sunny day. Cool to mild with generally light west to southwesterly winds, moderate to locally fresh along the coast.Monday 10 SeptemberEarly fog and frost patches. Patchy drizzle possible near the southwestern and central coasts. Otherwise a mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds and local afternoon seabreezes on the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 11 SeptemberEarly fog and frost patches inland. Otherwise a mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes on the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 12 SeptemberScattered showers extending across southern and mountain districts, more isolated in the north. Mild to warm, moderate to fresh northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler westerly change extending to the east by the evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
