MELBOURNE - Sep 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front has brought a vigorous west to southwesterly airflow across Victoria, however winds will ease today as a high pressure system moves slowly eastwards over the Bight. The high will move over southern NSW during Sunday and Monday to be located over the NSW coast by Tuesday. The next cold front is likely to cross the Bight on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers on and south of the ranges, more widespread about West Gippsland but easing from the west and contracting to the coast and east ranges by the evening. Chance of an afternoon shower over the northern inland. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres, rising to 1600 metres by the evening. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong to gale force about the Gippsland coast at first.Sunday 9 SeptemberIsolated showers near the coast and over West Gippsland, clearing in the afternoon to a mostly sunny day. Cool to mild with generally light west to southwesterly winds, moderate to locally fresh along the coast.Monday 10 SeptemberEarly fog and frost patches. Patchy drizzle possible near the southwestern and central coasts. Otherwise a mild and mostly sunny day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds and local afternoon seabreezes on the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 11 SeptemberEarly fog and frost patches inland.
