MELBOURNE - Sep 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous cold front has recently moved to the Tasman Sea with winds gradually easing in it's wake. A high pressure system approaching from the west is forecast to strengthen a ridge over New South Wales during the weekend, promoting generally fine weather throughout the region. By early in the new week the high is expected to reach the Tasman Sea, with the next frontal system due on Wednesday and Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges, falling as snow on the Alps above 1300 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, strong and gusty across the south.Sunday 9 SeptemberFine apart from early showers about the Alpine areas. Local frost patches about the tablelands, then a mostly sunny day. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 10 SeptemberEarly frosts about the tablelands and adjacent slopes, then a fine and mostly sunny day. Light winds.Tuesday 11 SeptemberEarly frosts about the tableland and adjacent slopes, then fine apart from the chance of light showers about the southern coast.
