Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will clear eastern Victoria this morning leaving a cold west to southwesterly airflow over the State. The next high pressure system will cross the Bight on Saturday and will move over southern New South Wales on Sunday and early next week extending a ridge across inland Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of FridayShowers over southern and mountain areas but only isolated showers over the northern plains. Isolated thunder and hail in the south contracting eastwards this morning and snowfalls on the ranges down to 1000 metres. Strong and gusty west to northwest winds shifting squally west to southwesterly during the day.Saturday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers, mostly on and south of the ranges, more widespread about the coast and eastern ranges at first. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres, rising to 1600 metres by the evening. Moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong to gale force about the Gippsland coast at first.Sunday 9 SeptemberIsolated showers in the south contracting to the coast during the morning before clearing during the afternoon. Fine over the north. Cool to mild with a light to moderate west to southwesterly wind, fresh at first along the coast.Monday 10 SeptemberFine apart from local drizzle near the coast. A mild and mostly sunny day with a light to moderate northwesterly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDV10310
