Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near Adelaide to Whyalla will reach Leigh Creek late evening. A cold front will reach western coasts late evening and move across the remainder of the State Friday morning. A high will become established over the Bight on Saturday then move slowly east during Sunday, to be centred east of the State early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayAreas of rain south of about Clare will extend north and east and ease to showers this evening with isolated shower reaching about Leigh Creek. Scattered showers will follow the rain in the south. Isolated thunderstorms are possible south of about Streaky Bay to Adelaide with possible small hail.Fresh to strong northwest to southwest winds, gusty at times in the south.Friday 7 SeptemberScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, easing to isolated showers during the early morning. Isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts contracting south during the day. Isolated morning thunderstorms and possible small hail south of a line Cleve to Adelaide. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strong about the coasts, gradually easing in the west.Saturday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts in the evening and clearing by late evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southeast in the west.Sunday 9 SeptemberAreas of morning fog and isolated frost over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly in the west.Monday 10 SeptemberAreas of morning fog and isolated frost over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over the Lower South East and Mount Lofty Ranges, 2 to 10 mm over the remainder of the agricultural areas and 1 to 2 mm over the south of the Pastorals.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers developing south of about Port Augusta during Wednesday and continuing on Thursday. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh northerly winds, turning southwesterly in the west and south on Wednesday extending throughout on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
