Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 5/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An intense low will move to the south of Kangaroo Island this afternoon then south of Mount Gambier during the evening. A cold front will move across southern parts of the State late on Thursday and into Friday morning. A high will become established over the Bight on Saturday then move slowly east during Sunday, to be centred well to the east of the State early next week.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and southern parts of the pastorals districts. Scattered showers about the southern coasts and ranges. Isolated gusty thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Southeast districts, contracting further southeast during the evening. Cool with fresh to strong and squally northwest to westerly winds, reaching gale force about coastal districts.Thursday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, increasing to areas of rain south of about Clare during the day then becoming scattered showers late afternoon and evening. Isolated thunderstorms and possible small hail developing south of about Streaky Bay to Adelaide during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers over the pastoral districts south of about Leigh Creek. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong at times.Friday 7 SeptemberScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, with isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Isolated morning thunderstorms and possible small hail south of a line Port Lincoln to Keith. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strong about the coasts, gradually easing in the west.Saturday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Scattered showers about southern coasts and ranges during the morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest winds, tending light to moderate south to southeast in the west.Sunday 9 SeptemberIsolated morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Areas of morning fog and isolated frost over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending northerly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday until midnight Sunday are expected to be 15 to 25 mm over the Lower South East and Mount Lofty Ranges, 5 to 15 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and 1 to 2 mm over the south of the Pastorals.Monday until WednesdayFine on Monday and Tuesday with isolated morning fog patches. Isolated showers developing south of about Ceduna to Adelaide during Wednesday. Mild to warm with light to moderate northerly winds, turning southwesterly in the west and south on Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
