Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 4/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is slowly moving east maintaining a ridge over northeastern New South Wales. As the ridge weakens a cold front preceded by warm, strong and gusty northwesterly winds will move through the state during Wednesday and Thursday, followed by another front on Friday. Behind the second front another high is expected to move near the Bight gradually extending a ridge across the state.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayLight rain over the southern inland with possible afternoon thunderstorms. Possible late showers on the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Strong to gale force and gusty, warm northwest winds ahead of a westerly change in the west.Fire Danger -  Severe: Illawarra/Shoalhaven, Far Western, Monaro Alpine. Very High: elsewhere in the southern half.Thursday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Mostly sunny remainder. West to northwest winds, gusty in the southeast.Friday 7 SeptemberIsolated showers in the southeast with snow showers developing above 1400 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwesterly winds gusty in the west.Saturday 8 SeptemberIsolated clearing showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
