Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1024 hPa over New South Wales is moving eastwards. A vigorous cold front is expected to reach the western border late Tuesday afternoon, a line Edithburgh to Tarcoola around midnight and move through eastern parts Wednesday morning. An intense low will also move to the south of the State on Wednesday, with another cold front moving through the southeast of the State on Friday morning.
Forecast for the rest of MondayHigh cloud increasing from the west. Fine apart from the chance of isolated light showers about western and southern coasts. Mild to warm grading to hot in the far west. Light to moderate northerly winds, fresh in the west.Tuesday 4 SeptemberPossible isolated showers developing over the West Coast district and Eyre Peninsula late afternoon, extending to the far south of the Northwest Pastoral district, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island in the evening. Warm, grading to hot in the west. Fresh to strong north to northwesterly winds, reaching gale force at times in the west during the day, ahead of a cooler fresh to strong west to southwesterly change in the west reaching a line Tarcoola to Edithburgh around midnight. Areas of raised dust over the north and west.Wednesday 5 SeptemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers over the remainder south of about Roxby Downs to Broken Hill. A cooler fresh to strong and squally northwest to southwesterly change extending throughout during the morning.Thursday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong at times about ocean coasts.Friday 7 September
Scattered showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms about Lower Eyre Peninsula and over parts south of Adelaide. Isolated showers over the west coast, northern agricultural area and south of the Pastorals, clearing later. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be 20 to 35 mm on the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Lower South East. 10 to 20 mm over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and 1 to 5 mm over the south of the Pastorals.
Saturday until MondayIsolated showers about southern coasts and ranges on Saturday. Fine on Sunday and Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
