Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1023 hPa over New South Wales will move slowly east to be centred over the Tasman sea on Tuesday and Wednesday, and north of New Zealand on Thursday. A cold front is expected to move over western parts of the State on Tuesday and remaining parts on Wednesday. An intense low will also move to the south of the State on Wednesday, followed by a weak high slowly extending from the west on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayHigh cloud increasing from the west. Fine apart from the chance of isolated light showers about western and southern coasts. Mild to warm grading to hot in the far west. Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening in the west.Tuesday 4 SeptemberPossible isolated showers developing over the West Coast district and Eyre Peninsula late afternoon, extending to the far south of the Northwest Pastoral district, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island in the evening. Warm grading to hot in the west. Fresh to strong and gusty north to northwesterly winds, ahead of a cooler fresh to strong and gusty west to southwesterly change in the west reaching a line Tarcoola to Edithburgh late evening. Areas of raised dust over the north and west in the freshening northerly winds.Wednesday 5 SeptemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers over the remainder south of about Woomera to Broken Hill, scattered at times during the morning. A cooler fresh to strong and gusty northwest to southwesterly change extending throughout during the morning.Thursday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, scattered early morning. Isolated showers over the northern agricultural area, clearing by evening. Fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds over the agricultural area, gradually easing during the day, with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds over the remainder. Cool to cold in the south grading to mild in the far north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be up to 2 mm south of about Woomera to Broken Hill, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, with isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm near southern coasts and over the Lower South East district and Mount Lofty Ranges south of about Adelaide.Friday until SundayCool to mild with isolated showers near southern coasts, clearing by Sunday, with the chance of showers developing in the west on Sunday. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds developing during Friday, turning northerly in the west on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Monday.Product IDS10033
