Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 2/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system to the northeast of Victoria will drift slowly northeastwards to be centred near the NSW mid north coast on Monday. On Tuesday a cold front will deepen over the Bight and approach western Victoria later in the day before crossing the State on Wednesday. Another cold front will affect Victoria on Thursday as an associated deep low pressure moves across Tasmania.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from the chance of a shower about the southwest and central coasts. Generally light to moderate northwesterly winds.Monday 3 SeptemberFine after morning fog and frost patches inland and isolated early morning showers near the coast. Mild to warm with generally light northerly winds and local afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 4 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far southwest later. Mostly sunny at first but cloud increasing in the west during the afternoon. A mild to warm day with a moderate to fresh northerly wind strengthening from the west later and locally reaching gale force at night.Wednesday 5 SeptemberAreas of rain, mainly about the ranges and over the southwest. Mild at first with strong and squally northerly winds but winds shifting cooler northwesterly. Isolated thunderstorms possible, mainly near the change.Thursday 6 SeptemberScattered showers over the northeast and southwest with isolated showers elsewhere. Snow above 1500 metres. Cool with strong and squally northwesterly winds turning westerly during the day before easing from the west at night.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Monday.Product IDV10310
