Outlook for Thursday, Friday and Saturday The surface trough is expected to move eastwards and is likely to reach the southeast during Friday, preceded by very warm to hot NE to NW winds and an elevated fire danger. The trough is then expected to lie over the eastern tropics on Saturday. There is the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms with and ahead of the trough as it moves east across southern and central areas of the state, but no significant rainfall is expected. Another ridge is expected to extend across the state in the wake of the trough with dry and cooler SW to SE winds. Otherwise, isolated showers are likely to persist about the northeast tropical and central coasts during the outlook period. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST Sunday.
