Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 31/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over South Australia will drift slowly eastwards across northern Victoria on the weekend to lie just northeast of the State on Monday. Meanwhile a weak cold front will brush the southwest coast later Sunday before slipping southwards. On Tuesday a low pressure trough will deepen over the Bight and will approach western Victoria later in the day.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers, mainly in southern and mountain districts. Snow above 1000 metres. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds easing from the west.Saturday 1 SeptemberAreas of morning frost and fog patches inland. Isolated showers south of the divide contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon and clearing later. Cool with generally light winds.Sunday 2 SeptemberMorning frost and fog patches in the north and east then a fine and mainly sunny day throughout apart from the chance of a late shower about the southwest coast. Mild with light to moderate northerly winds, freshening in the southwest.Monday 3 SeptemberFine after morning frost and fog patches in the east. Mild to warm with light winds tending northerly in the west.Tuesday 4 SeptemberFine until isolated showers develop in the southwest later. Mostly sunny at first but cloud increasing in the west during the afternoon. A mild to warm day with a moderate to fresh northerly wind strengthening from the west later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
